Help Blind Lahaina Dan! Pls See Maui Fire Update!

Please help! I need to raise money for my good friend, Daniel Bennett, who has experienced an unimaginable tragedy. This is a real life horror story. A nightmare with no end. Dan recently lost both of his eyes. He has no memory of the event, but awoke in the hospital blind, in a state of indescribable agony, while suffering from a double enucleation of both eyeballs. The horrific situation is still under investigation, and no one knows exactly what happened to Dan’s eyes, except that they were forcibly removed. He has amnesia from the trauma and has no memory of the incident. My good friend is totally blind now, and desperately struggling to survive in a pitch black world, alone and afraid. He has virtually no income, no help, and is soon to be evicted from his rental unit for failure to pay. He has nowhere else to go, and is petrified he will become homeless soon. He is currently living alone in Panama City, Florida and is forced to choose between basic necessities and rent. There are very few resources in his area, and he needs money to eat, pay bills, and to hire some private help. If he were to be blessed with enough financial support, I would help him relocate back to Maui where he has many more friends and resources available to him. Most of his friends are in Hawaii where he resided for over 15 years prior to the incident, and they cannot help him from afar. The incident occurred in Panama City, Florida, where Dan traveled from his home on Maui to help his grandparents with house maintenance and care. His grandparents can barely care for themselves and cannot help with Dan’s current situation at all. This tragedy has been a sentence far worse than death, as he does not have proper care, capable family, or any finances to help him survive. Daniel IS a survivor and a hard worker. Daniel WAS a talented surfer and artist, excelling in wood carving, surfboard shaping, weaving, yoga, poetry, photography, and specialized as an arborist, climbing coconut palms for many upscale homes and hotels while living on Maui. He currently needs so many things just to sustain a newly blind person’s basic activities of daily living. He is a resilient human being and has taught himself to cook, clean, bathe, wash clothes, and has even managed to create a small herb garden blind. He can still weave and is already planning his new career weaving lamp shades, hats, rugs, flowers and has many other ideas as well. He does not plan to give up on life, and wants to help other blind people. Please help my friend acquire some quality of life, relief of fear of being homeless, and to acquire necessities while adjusting to blindness. I have never done a go fund me before, and I do not take lightly to the idea of accepting donations from total strangers, and neither does Dan. He asked if he could weave roses from palm fronds to send out to donors to thank them, and I am going to try to make this possible for him. He will love giving back to you!
